Integrative Counselling, CBT, Psychosexual Therapy and Supervision

Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy

Psychosexual issues

I use an integrative approach to working with a range of psychosexual issues and how these relate to your body, mind, brain and emotions. Although I do work with individuals, if you are in a relationship it is usually more helpful to come together.

The following issues may benefit from a psychosexual approach:

Desire or arousal difficulties

Differences in desire within a relationship

Rapid or delayed ejaculation

Pain during sex

Vaginismus

Sexual identity

Sexual shame

Compulsive behaviour

Sexual health

The impact of sexual violence including childhood sexual abuse

Relationship therapy

As well as psychosexual therapy, I offer general relationship therapy for couples or people in other relationship styles to help your relationship grow and thrive. As well a cognitive behavioural approaches, I am trained in the Gottman Method and can help you to learn practical skills to improve your relationship and help you manage conflict in a positive way.

We will usually explore any past or current underlying issues in your relationship and how you might work through these together with my support. Identifying repeated  patterns and how you might react differently can often bring new perspectives and ways of responding which can strengthen your relationship.

I will suggest exercises or activities that might be helpful for you to do together or alone between sessions.

If you are attending with a partner, the sessions are 75 minutes long and take place every two weeks to allow enough time to explore your difficulties or areas you would like to work on together.
